"ERFOLGE" showcases some of my very successful ideas from my past work, "masterpieces".
A single idea can lead to the creation of a masterpiece.
In the first phase, I took apart my toy to figure out how it works.
Much later, while working on a scientific paper on "ventilator-associated pneumonia," I questioned why the standard endotracheal tubes were insufficient in terms of their sealing properties. My invention resulting from this led to the "microcuff ventilation tube" which Kimberly-Clark subsequent- ly distributed for years. The startup for this was called microcuff GmbH. Later, I recognized the highly interesting properties of ideal bodies of higher order. They offered dynamic applications as sealing and fixation ele- ments. This was of great importance for use on sensitive mucous membranes as an interface. It also seemed possible to build control elements with these bodies, for example, for ventilators. HyerCuff GmbH, Fürth, was founded to exploit these ideas. Eventually, Medtronic showed interest in them.
Currently, my theme is the redundancy that networks provide, neurological, social, and even cosmic!
